Ranil orders probe on police action against disabled soldiers

State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene had said this week that political forces working against the Government must take responsibility for the incident. The Defence Ministry had this week expressed regret over the incident. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has ordered an investigation into the action taken by the police on a group of disabled soldiers at Galle Face earlier this week.The Prime Minister told Parliament the incident where the police had used tear gas and water cannons on the disabled soldiers during a protest near the Presidential Secretariat will be investigated. Nikola Marinovic to Wetzlar
