Grateful to Rajasthan Royals for taking a chance on me: Jofra Archer

first_imgRajasthan Royals lived to fight another day in the Indian Premier League and they once again had Jofra Archer to thank for the win as the all-rounder made a superb 27 off 12 balls to help his team beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 3 wickets in a close match at the Eden Gardens stadium on Thursday. The Royals rode on Riyan Parag’s 47 and significant contributions from Anjinkya Rahane (34), Sanju Samson (22) and Shreyas Gopal (18) to get close to the target but it was Jofra Archer’s knock (27 not out) which took the team over the line as he finished the match with a four and a six in the last over. This was Archer’s final match for the Royals in this season as the Jamaica-born English bowler will return home to join the national team for the upcoming series against Pakistan.Archer thanked the Royals team management and the franchise owners for keeping their faith in him and drafting him into the side despite him not having any international experience so far. Ben Stokes will also head back on the same flight with Archer to join the England limited-overs team.Jofra finishes it off in style.
