Two officers on leave after Fridays fatal shooting

Neither officer’s name has been released.Just before 11 a.m. Friday, officers searching for France attempted to talk to him at the Addison Apartments, 7531 N.E. 18th St. in the Ogden neighborhood, according to a police bulletin. France rammed the officers’ unmarked police vehicle with the vehicle he was driving, police said. The situation then “was escalated” and police fired at France, Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. France was an ex-convict wanted for failing to check in with his community corrections officer, according to the Washington State Department of Corrections.last_img read more
